 Prosperity Tree Bed & Breakfast is a 400 sqm 4 bedroom rural home on a 120ha sustainably managed dairy farm. Our detached 100 sqm 2 bedroom (upstairs) guest accomodation, can sleep 8. 2 queen beds, 4 singles. Total floor area incl garaging, patios, pool... 700+ m2.
You have your own kitchen, lounge, bathroom and private deck on ground level, TV & wireless broadband. Swimming pool available for use by guests. Normal pool temp is 25-28C Summer, 18-20 Autumn/Spring. (We can heat it up if you let us know in advance) The property has it's own generator which runs everything in the event of a power outage & level 5 smart home security system. Your hosts are very experienced in the hospitality trade, Greg qualified chef, Jacqui bar, housekeeping. We co-owned a fine dining restaurant & a cafe for many years. We have 3 children-Alicia 21, (recently finished training as a hair stylist-living away from home) Chelsea 18 (at university in Auckland) & Ben 17 years old, living at home attending our local high school. Our other family member is Bubba, a young, extremely energetic fox terrier, and 300 cows. Ideally suited to families on a self drive holiday-up to 2 couples & 4 children, if you don't mind sharing a bathroom. We do special rates for this type of booking. Prosperity Tree is situated 15km from Hobbiton movie set or 12 km south of Matamata. Driving times to major towns and cities. 45 mins drive to Hamilton, 35 mins to National Agricultural Fieldays site at Mystery Creek, 35 mins Tauranga, 40 mins Rotorua, 2 hours to Auckland, 1 hr 20 mins to Taupo.
July - October is a special time on the farm - new calves being born every day (sometimes as you are watching!) - farm tour included - opportunity to hand feed the 'new babies'.
Room rates - Two people per night = $160.00 Single person per night = $90.00, Extra Adult $80, Extra child $50. Full house - 2 Families - 2 couples & 4 children incl cooked or continental breakfast $450 per night. The entire property is available for rentals of 2 weeks or more-POA. As an example of this type of rental the cast of 'The Hobbit' movies used the property for several weeks at the end of 2011.
There are 3 golf courses within 15 mins drive of the property. We have a serious MX/Supercross track on the property-available for guests who are riders & bring their own bikes to use at a small additional charge.
